The fellowship will offer opportunities for students with an interest in digital health and AI for health. Through this program, fellows will:
- Work closely with Center faculty mentors over an 8-month period.
- Contribute to ongoing research initiatives by either:
- Conducting evidence synthesis on specific digital health or AI topics, or
- Engaging in primary research with a defined output.
- Produce tangible deliverables that may be used toward practicum or capstone requirements, in consultation with faculty.
The fellowship aims to bridge academic learning with applied research, empowering students to make substantive contributions to global digital health evidence.
Fellowship Structure and Support
- Number of Fellowships: 14
- Funded Fellowships: Funding support of $1,000/student may be available depending on the project and the number of applications received.
- Mentorship: Fellows will be paired with faculty mentors based on topic alignment and research interests.
- Duration: ~8 months
Outputs
Each fellow will generate a defined research product, which could take the form of:
- A systematic or scoping review,
- A policy or evidence brief,
- A research report based on primary data collection, or
- Another output as determined in collaboration with the faculty mentor.
Application Process
Interested students are invited to submit their CV and a 2-page proposal on one of the identified priority topics listed below. The proposal should include:
- Understanding of the topic and why you are interested in it: Demonstrate familiarity with the subject area and its relevance.
- Key issues: Outline critical questions, gaps, or challenges in the field.
- Proposed approach: Describe how you would address these questions, including methods and potential outputs.
