The Uganda Cancer Institute (UCI) is an autonomous body under the Ministry of
Health, established by the Uganda Cancer Institute Act, 2016. The Act mandates the
Institute to manage and coordinate cancer care and cancer-related conditions across
the country. UCI’s core functions include cancer treatment, prevention, research, and
training in fields such as Oncology, Pediatrics, Gynecology, Radiotherapy, Surgery,
Imaging and Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, and other related specialties.
In line with its mandate and in order to operationalize the UCI Main, Kampala
together with the UCI Regional Cancer Centers in Gulu and Mbarara, applications
are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill the vacant positions listed below.

The incumbent will be responsible to Consultant (Gynaecology) for performing the following duties:
1. Responsible for ensuring efficient management of services in his/her specialization at the Institute and the catchment area.
2. Supervise and mentor Senior House Officers, Medical Officers, Interns and other Health Professionals under him/her.
3. Plan and coordinate training programmes of Health Professionals under him/her.
4. Plan and coordinate Continuous Professional Development (CPD) in his/her specialty, for Health professionals at the Institute and the catchment
area.
5. Provide technical and professional advice in his/her area of specialization to Government and the
Institute.
6. Perform any other duties as may be assigned from
time to time.
