The Uganda Editors’ Guild is a professional association for editors and senior journalists, dedicated to fostering professionalism, promoting networking, and defending media freedom. As a key partner in the M-SPACE project, the Guild is responsible for shaping editorial standards and promoting ethical journalism across the country.
Key responsibilities
As the Programme Officer, you will be responsible for:
- Project management: Leading the planning, execution, and reporting of Uganda Editors’ Guild project activities, including trainings, forums and research.
- Stakeholder engagement: Coordinating with consortium partners (including ACME), and liaising with editors, media houses, and government officials.
- Monitoring & evaluation: Supporting data collection and tracking progress against project goals.
- Communication: Drafting and disseminating project-related communications and ensuring proper documentation of all activities.
Qualifications and experience
- A bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Media Studies, Communication, Development Studies, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in programme or project management, preferably within the media, governance, or civil society sectors.
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and donor reporting.
- A strong understanding of Uganda’s media landscape.
