1 HSE System, Risk Assessment, and Inspections
- Develop, document, implement, and maintain a comprehensive OHSE management system aligned with the Uganda OSHA Act and the hazard profile of a container depot.
- Conduct comprehensive and systematic risk assessments across all ICD work areas at least twice per year and whenever a new activity or equipment is introduced.
- Conduct rigorous daily safety inspections of all ICD operational areas, issuing formal corrective action notices for all identified deficiencies.

2 Incident Investigation, Training, and Emergency Response
- Investigate every workplace accident, near-miss, and environmental incident thoroughly, producing detailed investigation reports with specific preventive recommendations.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive safety training and induction for all new employees, contractors, and casual labourers before they commence operational duties.
- Plan and conduct emergency response drills at least quarterly, including fire evacuation, medical emergency, and hazardous material spill drills.

Q U A L I F I C A T I O N S A N D R E Q U I R E M E N T S
REQUIREMENT DETAIL
- Minimum Education Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or Engineering
- Professional Certification Valid NEBOSH General Certificate or NEBOSH International General Certificate is mandatory
- Experience Minimum 3 years’ HSE experience in an ICD, port, container terminal, or heavy industrial environment
- Regulatory Knowledge Thorough knowledge of Uganda OSHA Act, NEMA environmental regulations, and ISO 45001/14001
