To exercise general supervision, inspection and control of Allied Health Professionals and Health facilities

Duties and Responsibilities
i. Carry out regular inspection and supervision of professional and Health facilities
ii. Support the registration and licensing of professionals and Health Facilities
iii. Investigate cases of professional misconduct, malpractice and medical negligence
iv. Develop and maintain an upto date inventories of professionals and Health facilities
v. Support the disciplinary committee inquiry processes
vi. Provide technical support to the district and other health supervisory authorities
vii. Monitoring the compliance of standard operating procedures in Health facilities viii. Provide necessary support in criminal investigations and prosecutions ix. Provide support to the council planning and budgeting processes
x. Provide timely accountability for council and other stakeholder’s resources xi. Conduct mentorships and capacity building for subordinates xii. Prepare and submit periodic plans and reports to relevant authorities
xiii. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by authorised officers Academic qualifications
i. Must either have a bachelor’s degree in any of the Allied Health professional disciplines plus a diploma in management OR a Diploma in any of the Allied Health professionals disciplines plus a relevant bachelor’s degree in management from a recognised university/Institution
ii. Possession of a relevant Master’s degree from a recognised awarding institution may be of added advantage iii. Must be registered by Allied Health Professionals Council and published on the up-to-date register of Allied Health Professionals as contained in the latest Uganda gazette. experience
Must have worked for at least 5 years as an allied health professional with a reputable organisation
