To Teach Undergraduate and postgraduate students at the University through
well researched and prepared lectures; maintain academic and professional
excellence through research and dissemination of research findings; and

policy and regulations. To administer and invigilate tests and examinations according to

6. To conduct research and disseminating research findings through
conferences, seminars and publications. To supervise undergraduate and post graduate students undertaking
research projects.
To conduct seminars and tutorials.
To carry out administrative duties in the department as directed by the
Head of Department.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
a)Should have
a PhD in French from a recognized awarding
university/institution.
b)Must have at least three (3) years of teaching/research experience at the
level of Lecturer in a recognized university/institution.
c)Must have published at least three (3) articles in reputable peer reviewed
journals or at least three (3) book chapters or one (1) book with an ISBN
Number since last promotion/appointment to the rank of Lecturer.
Must be the principal or first author of at least one (1) article in (c) above.
Must be one of the first five co-authors for the other two (2) articles in (c)
above.
Three (3) journal articles or book chapters submitted shall be vetted.
Must submit the publications to the University Librarian to check for
anti-plagiarism and credibility of the publishers before submission of the
application.
 Publications submitted must not be more than five years old at the time of application.
i) Should have supervised at least one (1) graduate student to completion
since last promotion/appointment to the rank of Lecturer.
Should have contributed to community service.
k)Age Limit: Not above 55 years old at the time of application in case of new entrants into Kyambogo University.
