Manages the intake, flow, and distribution of water across ponds and cages, ensuring optimal water conditions for fish growth while minimizing wastage and environmental impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain pumps, valves, and water channels.
- Monitoring water flow rates and utilization in the hatchery.
- Monitor water levels in ponds
- Coordinate with aeration and dredging teams to maintain pond conditions.
- Record and report water supply activities and incidents.
- Implement water conservation measures in line with sustainability practices.
- Follow safety protocols when handling pumps, valves, and water channels.
- Report hazards, leaks, or unsafe working conditions.
- Ensure safe water handling practices to prevent contamination.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the line manager
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Certificate in water management, fisheries and aquaculture or related fields
- Experience in water management or irrigation systems.
- Knowledge of pump operation, plumbing, and basic hydraulics.
- Understanding of aquaculture water requirements.
- Ability to work outdoors and under physically demanding conditions.
