Funding Information
- Grant size: Up to £2,500
- Typical grant: Around £600
- You can apply more than once, however, they expect 12 months to have passed since your last grant award before you make another application.
- They also won’t usually make more than 3 grant awards to one individual or household.
What is it for?

- To support accredited education and training routes, including higher education, music and other arts, sports, apprenticeships, employment, and also to widen participation in different academic subjects and educational activities.
- Books on your college or university reading list
- Specialist equipment needed for your area of study, such as a laptop
- Tools and clothing to help you undertake an apprenticeship
- Fees and other costs when studying certain accredited courses that are not eligible for a student loan
- Costs associated with progressing in a sport or taking part in competitions
- Costs associated with pursuing a recognised talent
- Equipment or other costs associated with trips or expeditions (please note: they’ll usually only award a maximum of £250 towards trips organised by schools).
Eligibility Criteria
- You should only apply for money from this Fund if you:
- Are aged 11 to 24.
- In financial need and need funding to help you achieve your goal in life.
- Live in or go to a state funded school or college in the former Borough of Taunton Deane.
- Still have a family home in the former Borough of Taunton Deane but now attend university somewhere else.
- Anyone who meets the above criteria can apply. However, they prioritise applications from people who currently live and attend a state funded school or college in the former Borough of Taunton Deane.
