The United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) and the Millennium Campus Network (MCN) jointly present the Millennium Fellowship—a premier global leadership development program that empowers undergraduate students to advance social impact initiatives on their campuses and in their communities.
This semester-long fellowship is designed to help students strengthen their leadership skills, collaborate with like-minded peers, and align their projects with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Participants gain access to world-class training, global connections, and international recognition, positioning them as emerging leaders in social innovation and civic engagement.
The Class of 2025 is currently in progress, with fellows across more than 290 campuses worldwide. Applications for the Class of 2026 are now open, offering a new opportunity for undergraduates to join a global network of changemakers.
What is the Millennium Fellowship?
The Millennium Fellowship is a semester-long leadership program that takes place on university and college campuses across the globe. It is a collaborative initiative of UNAI—an organization connecting higher education institutions with the United Nations—and MCN, a global student leadership network dedicated to advancing sustainable development and social good.
Through the Fellowship, undergraduate students work in teams, known as Millennium Fellowship cohorts, to:
- Design, implement, or scale projects that address pressing global challenges.
- Receive guidance from UNAI and MCN staff, as well as faculty advisors.
-
- Engage in reflection and reporting exercises to document progress and outcomes.
At the conclusion of the program, fellows submit a Final Report detailing their leadership growth and project achievements. Those who fulfill all requirements receive official recognition from UNAI and MCN.
