2 MSc/PhD Positions in Environmental Remediation
We are seeking two highly motivated, full-time MSc/Ph.D. students to join our collaborative research team in the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at the Schulich School of Engineering. In this position, the successful candidate(s) will work on an innovative project aimed at the development of an electrokinetic soil remediation method, in which both salts and hydrocarbons are to be removed. The project is a close collaboration between industrial partners and our team, and provides opportunities to interact with partners and gain experience at different stages of the innovation chain.
Qualifications: We are inviting applications from interested individuals who have the following:
– B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in chemical engineering, or a related discipline, preferably with a focus on separation processes or material development.
– Experience in designing and conducting careful laboratory experiments.
Key Responsibilities will Include:
–Â Conducting research in a responsible and ethical manner with a critical mindset.
–Â Maintaining accurate records of experimental procedures and results.
–Â Leading the preparation of scientific manuscripts for publication in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
– Presenting research findings to industrial partners and at scientific conferences
–Â Actively managing collaborative work with other research groups.
–Â Contributing to laboratory operations.
–Â Supporting efforts related to Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Accessibility.
