Victoria University of Wellington Scholarships 2026-2027 are partially funded scholarships for international students. This scholarship is available for undergraduate and master’s studies and provides the recipient with up to NZ$15,000.

This scholarship helps international students who intend to study for a bachelor’s or master’s degree to join Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington’s international student community. This is a partial fee-based scholarship that will go towards tuition fees for one year of study. It is designed for new international students who are entering their first year of a bachelor’s or master’s degree program and studying full-time on campus. Holders must demonstrate their academic potential, as demonstrated by their admission into a Victoria University of Wellington program.

Scholarships are awarded competitively on the basis of academic excellence.  They apply to study in the year following their application and will be credited to tuition fees. Shortlisted candidates may be requested to provide additional information to support their application. Recipients of the scholarship are guaranteed an offer of a place in one of our Halls of Residence, provided an accommodation application is received by the Accommodation Service by their deadline.

• Scholarships of NZ$15,000 will be available to both undergraduate and postgraduate recipients, and scholarships of NZ$10,000 will be available to master’s recipients.
