Eligibility Criteria

The scholarship is open to international students currently enrolled at NYCU in either:

  1. Undergraduate programs
  2. Graduate programs

Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Must hold international student status
  2. Undergraduates: Minimum GPA of 3.0
  3. Graduates: Minimum GPA of 3.5
  4. Must not be receiving other government scholarships or holding a working ARC/Visa

Students whose current scholarships end in February 2026 are encouraged to apply to continue their academic journey without interruption.

Application Procedure

Required Documents

Applicants must submit their application online at  and upload:

  1. Signed declaration form
  2. Conduct grade report
  3. Research report (1–2 pages) signed by your advisor (for graduate students)
  4. Recommendation letter from your advisor (submitted online by the advisor)
  5. Optional: TOCFL or NYCU Chinese language certificate
  6. Optional: Certificates of volunteer work or other achievements

The National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU)

Oranisation Overview

The establishment of National Yang-Ming University, formerly known as National Yang-Ming College of Medicine, was approved by Taiwan’s Executive Yuan in January 1971. It was named after the Ming dynasty Chinese philosopher Wang Yang-Ming. Three years later, the construction of the college’s first building—the Experimental Building—was completed. The college was officially founded on May 15, 1975, when Dr. Paul Han was appointed its first Provost. Its first class of 120 medical students enrolled in July of the same year. Since the college lacked its own hospital, the Executive Yuan approved Taipei Veterans General Hospital to serve as the college’s teaching hospital. Adhering to the college motto of “benevolent mind and art, putting knowledge into practice,” the college initially dedicated itself to training doctors to serve the needs of Taiwan, especially regarding the shortage of medical resources faced by Taiwan’s rural areas.
