Theme 10x program: Enabling The Growth Of Msmes Through The Digital Economy (2024 – 2027)
Welcome to the 10X Program
The 10X program is being implemented by Outbox (U), UNCDF, Refactory Academy, and WITU in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation. Refactory Academy is working towards inclusively skilling over 9,400 and linking 6,337 young women for meaningful work in the digital economy. Refactory Academy in the 10X program is empowering young women with relevant tech skills and life-changing opportunities, equipping them to thrive in the digital economy as individuals and as business owners.
What we offer in the 10X program
Refactory offers foundational and advanced skilling programs [click HERE to check out our programs] in software development, practical training aligned with industry needs and real-world project experience [click HERE to check out our Apprenticeship program] through partnerships with tech companies. Refactory also provides career preparation, mentorship and networking events to enhance job readiness, while empowering young women with the digital tools necessary to scale their ventures or grow in their careers. Refactory prepares learners to thrive as professionals or entrepreneurs in the digital economy.
10X Scholarship Eligibility
Youth in your community who fulfil the following criteria will be eligible for the 10X Scholarship:
Gender: Female
Age: 18 – 35 years (Youth) Exception will be made for persons with disabilities & refugees – up to 40 years.
Residence: Must be living in Uganda currently.
Nationality: Ugandans or Refugees/IDPs/Stateless Persons living in Uganda.
Disability: Persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
Financial Disadvantage: Monthly household income of less than UGX 270,000/=.
Employment status: Unemployed persons will be given priority.
Key Information
Application Deadlines: We receive applications throughout the year. You will be clearly informed about deadlines for each cohort.
Start Dates: You will be provided with start dates for each cohort.
Orientation Dates: These dates will be shared with you to guide applicants to attend orientation.
Sessions are conducted online via Zoom. All participants MUST attend orientation sessions.
Use of Delivery Partner Premises: Only students of the Foundations of Software Development course are expected to use the delivery partner premises for classes. Applicants of all other courses will need to take classes at their homes and need computers to do so.
