Scholarships for undergraduate and Master’s students
The basic requirements for applying for a scholarship are that you must:
- be studying at Uppsala University (unless otherwise in the scholarship requirements)
- be studying full-time in the semester for which you are applying, i.e. 30 credits, or have an adapted study plan with a slower pace of study due, for example, to a disability that entitles you to special support
- have an income of less than SEK 230,000/year (from employment, excl. government study loans).
When and how to apply?
The scholarships are open for applications at the beginning of every semester. See the timeline on our website for exact dates.
Each scholarship has unique requirements that can be supported by attaching appendices. Read the instructions for each scholarship to find out which appendices you need to include for the scholarships you want to apply for. Please note that some population registration certificates from the Swedish Tax Agency may take time to arrive.
How much money can I receive?
A lot! The amounts vary between SEK 1,000 and SEK 70,000 per semester. You cannot be granted several small scholarships that together exceed SEK 45,000/year. However, you can receive one large scholarship which itself exceeds SEK 45,000/year. Travel scholarships are granted separately and therefore not included in the 45,000/year limit.
Most of our scholarships come with no restrictions on how you use them – it’s entirely up to you!
International student?
You are welcome to apply for all scholarships for undergraduate and Master’s students. A few scholarships are only open for citizens of certain countries or students born in a specific region of Sweden, however most are open for all. Please read the scholarship requirements for each scholarship carefully.
