The Advancing Research for Climate and Health (ARCH) initiative is a five-year, CAD 27.2-million partnership between the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) and the United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. ARCH was established to address the growing health risks caused by climate change, such as heat-related illnesses, respiratory diseases, disruptions to food and water systems, and the impacts of extreme weather on vulnerable communities. Through five regional hubs across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East, the initiative strengthens climate–health research, improves data availability, supports community-driven solutions, and builds more resilient primary health systems. The Regional Hub for Asia Climate Change and Health (REACH), led by Monash University Malaysia, focuses on climate-vulnerable groups in Asia and is currently inviting Expressions of Interest for research projects.
