Uganda Red Cross Society (URCS) is the leading National Humanitarian Organization in Uganda and a member of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement (IFRC). Strategic planning and Management
Provide clear focus and direction into the role and function of the organization.
• Understands and shares URCS Vision, Mission & Values with the directorate’s senior staff and ensures understanding of the same by all Directorate’s staff.
• Lead the organization’s financial planning and budgeting Processes.
• Align financial strategy to the organisation’s strategic plan.
• Take the lead in reviewing and developing the financial policies and procedures.
• Prepare short and long-term financial forecasts of financial performance for use with internal management and external parties.
• Provide to Management and the Board with technical expertise in finance and its impact on the success of the organization.
• Prepare and present medium to long-term financial plans based on the Organization’s
Strategic Plan.
knowledge & Skills
Must have sound knowledge of computerized
Accounting.
2. Must be cost conscious and able to implement and
enforce effective budgetary controls.
3. Must have high level of integrity, with attendant
independence and ability to make sound financial
decisions.
4. Must be a seasoned People Manager with
demonstrable prior experience and success in
overseeing Staff productivity and Performance
Management.
5. Strong knowledge of project financial management
6. Proficiency in bookkeeping and double-entry
accounting
7. Financial analysis and corporate financial reporting
8. Financial Risk Management
9. Strategic Financial Planning
10. Budgeting and budgetary control
11. Donor financial accounting procedures
12. Tax laws and systems in Uganda.
